Beijing's New 72 hour visa-free transit Policy

Beijing authorities have come up with a new visa-free transit policy through which passport holders of 45 countries will have the freedom to travel and sightsee within the Beijing Municipality for 72 hours without needing to apply for a visa. These 45 countries includes United States of America, Britain, Australia, Canada, Japan, South Korea and Brazil. This visa-free transit policy will be effective from January 01, 2013 and travelers will be required to have third-country visas and onward plane tickets.
