It is a public use join civil-military airport located 2 km west of the central business district of Portsmouth, a city in Rockigham County, New Hampshire, United States. The airport is owned by the Pease Development Authority. Portsmouth International Airport has one runway of 11, 321 ft long which is being shared with Pease Air National Guard Base. Pease was one of the 7 Launch Abort Sites and and one 18 Emergency Landing Sites for NASA space shuttle orbiters. Commercial airline service resumed after 2008 with Allegiant Air starting on October 25, 2013. Allegiant Air is the only airline service which operates at the airport.
