Reasons to Book Cheap Columbus Flights

Columbus is the capital and largest city of the state of Ohio and the county seat of Franklin County in US. This riverside city is scenically located along Scioto and Olentangy rivers, and offers a superb combination of theatrical performances, music and art festivals, annual events and a full-throttled downtown ambiance inclusive of a pulsating nightlife. An impossible to miss historical attraction here is the house of government called the State Capitol. It is a Greek Revival masterclass that hosts the dreaded site where a former 19th century US President William McKinley was murdered.

Franklin Park Conservatory

Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is a botanical garden and conservatory located in Columbus. It has more than 400 plant species representing different global climate zones like the Himalayan Mountains, Tropical Rainforest, Deserts and Pacific Islands. They are neatly supplemented by a small garden of orchids and tropical bonsai collections and a Palm House that contains 40 different types of palm trees. Another stunner here is the annual exhibition of thousands of butterflies.

Ohio Statehouse

The Ohio Statehouse in Columbus is the seat of state government in Ohio. This Greek Revival monument houses the Ohio General Assembly and the ceremonial offices of governing bodies. Its splendid interior is hallmarked by three paintings - two that portray the Signing of the Treaty of Greenville and one that portrays Thomas A Edison. Edison was one of the most famous sons of the city who is credited with the discovery of electric bulbs, phonograph, and motion pictures camera.

German Village

The largest privately-funded historic restoration ground in America, German Village is an old-fashioned but historic neighborhood in Columbus. It is known for its array of narrow cobblestone and tree-lined streets that lead to old fashioned bungalows. A stellar highlight of this village is the Schiller Park that offers a scenic backdrop with its garden, pond, and a number of old Victorian-era homes.
