Reasons to Book Cheap Dublin Flights

Dublin is the capital of Ireland. It is bisected by the River Liffey that empties into a bay along which the city is situated. It was once the epicenter of British rule in the country and the Irish capital’s architecture is an obvious inference of the same. You would love the city for its prolific architecture, stunning arched bridges and the iconic Guinness Brewery but there is more to follow. Dublin also has a strong undercurrent of literary prowess that dates back to 9th century and has been the home to numerous authors like WB Yeats, GB Shaw and Oscar Wilde - no wonders it was voted the UNESCO City of Literature in 2010.

Trinity College

Trinity College is the heart of the Irish capital. Founded by Queen Elizabeth 1 in 16th century, the oldest university in the country is the numero uno attraction in the city for its profound history and remarkable architecture. Of special note here are 1200 year old illuminated illustrations of Christian Gospels (the Book of Kells) and numerous artifacts in a 300 year old Long Room.

Kilmainham Gaol

The Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin is a spine-chilling part of the Irish independence from Britain. One of the biggest buildings of its type in the world, it is where the protesters against British Empire were imprisoned, tortured, and even executed. Visitors are first offered an audiovisual introduction to the history of the jail and then led via a guided tour to the Stonebreaker's Yard, the place where all Irish political dissidents of British Empire were eliminated in the Revolt of 1916.

St. Stephens Green

St. Stephen's Green is a city center public park set across more than 22 acres of land in Dublin. It is the go-to point to enjoy serenity amidst lush greenery and sprawling flowerbeds. The park contains a fountain, a bridge, a duck pond and a children's playground and is flanked by a number of 18th century Georgian monuments.
