St. George's CathedralOne of the world’s tallest wooden churches, St. George's Cathedral is an Anglican cathedral in Georgetown and seat of the Bishop of Guyana. It was built in Gothic architecture with clustered columns and flying buttresses in 19th century. It has a shrine of the first bishop of the city and a number of stained glass windows that chiefly depict the Crucifixion and the Ascension of Jesus Christ. A large chandelier gifted by Queen Victoria to mark the 100th anniversary of the Province of the West Indies is another stunner in this cathedral.
Botanical GardensThe Botanical Gardens in Georgetown have an extensive collection of tropical flora and are laid out with ponds, canals, and small bridges. The star attraction here is Guyana's national flower, Victoria Lilies.
