Reasons to Book Cheap Guangzhou Flights

Guangzhou is the capital and largest city of Guangdong Province in China. Located along the Pearl River, this city has been an economic powerhouse ever since its birth in 214 BC because of being a prominent terminus and transportation hub of the maritime Silk Road. Unlike a typical Chinese city, it is an open bracket of various lifestyles, liberal ideas, distinctive cuisines and cultural reforms because of its early exposure to the world and unusual topography. Visitors usually find this place a delightful mix of old and new - be it in architecture or cultural festivals. The best times to visit Guangzhou would be between the months of April and October when it hosts China’s biggest trade fair, China Import and Export Fair.

Canton Tower

Guangzhou’s star attraction, Canton Tower, was once the tallest Chinese structure until it was topped by Shanghai Tower in 2013. It measures 595.7 meters and is the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the world. It has an indoor public observatory, outdoor observation decks, numerous restaurants and entertainment venues (like a 4-D theater). The Canton Tower had hosted the opening ceremony of the 2010 Asian Games.

Shamian Island (the Sandy Surface Island)

Shamian Island is an island in Guangzhou city, China. The island is characterized by many renovated old British and French buildings. This place offers a bittersweet experience of roaming through period houses that are lined up with several hotels, restaurants, and tourist shops. The star attraction here is a renovated French Catholic chapel called Our Lady of Lourdes Chapel that was built in 1892 and is considered a remarkable example of 200 year old French architecture.

Chen Clan Ancestral Hall

The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall is a symmetric complex of 19 buildings that houses nine halls and six courtyards around a north-south axis. It is considered an epitome of traditional Chinese architecture and decoration style. It was built as an academic temple by the 72 Chen clans for their disciples’ in 1894 during Qing Dynasty. This hall is known for its exceptional series of decoration, both inside and outside. It now houses the Guangdong Folk Art Museum where you can find articles with a superlative degree of wood carving, stone carving, brick carving, pottery, plaster and iron engraving.
