This iconic residence-cum-museum was renovated in 1999 and its exterior was restored to red terracotta brick work and purple slate roofs, and its marble floor was re-stenciled.
State CapitolState Capitol in Hartford is the third capitol building for the State of Connecticut since the American Revolution. Built in 1878 of marble and a gold dome top, it is one of the largest Eastlake style buildings in the country. The State Capitol houses the Connecticut General Assembly, the State Senate, the House of Representatives, and the office of the Governor of the State of Connecticut.
