The Vietnamese countryside is full of awe-inspiring sites, many of them forged by nature’s hand. But there are also some spectacular sights that the human hand has played a major part in creating. Not to mention two enormous human hands made from reinforced concrete.

The Golden Bridge, or “Cau Vang” in Vietnamese, is a spectacular pedestrian bridge located in the Ba Na Hills near Danang, Vietnam. The bridge provides visitors with a stunning view of the surrounding landscape, including rolling hills, lush forests, sweeping valleys, and mist-covered mountain peaks. The bridge’s elevated position provides visitors with a serene and panoramic vista that varies with misty mornings and colorful sunsets, creating a harmonious blend of nature’s beauty and human ingenuity.

The bridge was designed by the Vietnamese company TA Landscape Architecture and completed in 2018 as part of a broader development project in the Ba Na Hills. The project aimed to boost tourism in the region and attract more visitors to the Ba Na Hills Resort, a mountain resort complex that offers a combination of natural beauty, amusement park attractions, and cultural experiences.

The most distinctive feature of the Golden Bridge is the aforementioned giant stone hands that appear to hold the bridge aloft. These hands are meticulously designed and 26 to 30 feet tall. The bridge itself is coated in a shimmering golden color, hence the name “Golden Bridge.” The design of the bridge is meant to depict a divine, ethereal image, evoking the feeling of walking on clouds or being lifted by the hands of the gods. The bridge also pays homage to the majestic landscapes of Vietnam as it floats amid the lush green mountains of the Ba Na Hills.

In fact, social media platforms like Instagram played a significant role in popularizing the Golden Bridge, as visitors often shared their photos and experiences online, contributing to its global recognition as a must-visit destination.

It’s not just the bridge that offers stunning views. To access the Golden Bridge, visitors take a scenic cable car ride from the base of the hills. The cable car system is one of the longest and highest in the world, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes.

Besides walking across the Golden Bridge and admiring its breathtaking views, visitors to the Ba Na Hills area can enjoy several other activities. The Ba Na Hills Resort offers a range of attractions and recreational activities for all ages. This includes a large indoor amusement park with various rides and games, suitable for both children and adults. The complex also features a replica of a charming French village, offering a taste of European architecture, boutiques, and cafes.
